Interested in joining the Tulane NROTC Battalion and pursuing a commission in the Navy or Marine Corps? Incoming college freshmen and current full-time college freshmen and sophomores are eligible to join.
Upon acceptance, students become NROTC "Midshipmen" on a scholarship or non-scholarship ("College Program") basis. Scholarship students receive all of the benefits entitled by the NROTC scholarship (tuition, fees, book stipend, and monthly stipend) while participating in the program. College Program Midshipmen participate on a non-obligated status until they are offered a scholarship or are selected for "Advanced Standing" following their junior year. There are three year and two year scholarship opportunities for College Program Midshipmen. College Program Midshipmen wear the same uniforms, conduct the same physical training, complete the same Naval Science courses, and participate in the same leadership development sessions as scholarship students.
